OFFICE OF THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY
Post (1) Customer Service Officer (Non-Civil Service Vacancy)
Salary: HK$12,000 - $17,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience
Entry Requirements:
| (A) |
(i) | a bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; |
| (ii) | Level 3 (“Grade D” before 2007) or above in Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; and |
| (iii) | at least 2 years' experience in customer service and/or complaint handling; |
OR |
| (B) |
(i) | a pass in 2 subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, or equivalent; |
| (ii) | Level 3 (“Grade D” before 2007) or above in Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent, plus a pass in 1 other subject; and |
| (iii) |
at least 4 years' experience in customer service and/or complaint handling. |
Note:
Candidates should:
| (A) |
have a positive attitude and confidence in handling complicated complaint cases; |
| (B) |
be able to work under pressure; |
| (C) |
speak fluent English and Cantonese and have a general knowledge of Putonghua; |
| (D) |
have good knowledge of the use of computer software such as Word, Excel and E-mail; |
| (E) |
capable of English and Chinese word processing at a speed preferably of 30 and 20 w.p.m. respectively; and |
| (F) |
preferably have knowledge about the local telecommunications services. |
Selected candidates will be required to attend a written test in both English and Chinese as well as a typing test.
Duties:
| The Customer Service Officer will be responsible for: |

(A) |
handling consumer complaints against telecommunications operators and answering public enquiries in both verbal and written forms. He/She will also need to coordinate with internal officers and prepare replies;

(B) |
performing general office duties; and |
| |
(C) |
dealing with reception counter duties. |
Post (2) Administrative Assistant
(Non-Civil Service Vacancy)
Salary: HK $9,000 per month
Entry requirements:

(A) |
Level 2 (“Grade E” before 2007) or above in Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) and passes in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent;

(B) |
English and Chinese word processing speed preferably at 30 and 20 w.p.m. respectively (note: selected candidates will be required to attend a typing test);
|
| |
(C) |
have good knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail usage;
|
| |
(D) |
at least 1 year relevant working experience; and |
| |
(E) |
working knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage. |
Duties:
The Administrative Assistant will be deployed on clerical and secretarial duties relating to one or a combination of the following aspects: general administrative support, secretarial services, record management, processing licence applications, statistics compilation, handling complaints/public enquiry, manning reception counters etc.

Post (3) Outdoor Assistant (Non-Civil Service Vacancy)
Salary: HK $450 per day (on 9 hours net per day)
Entry Requirements:

(A) |
secondary 5, with basic knowledge in English; |
| |
(B) |
holding valid driving licence (Hong Kong Driving Licence Class Code (1 & 2)) for at least 5 years; |
| |
(C) |
preferably hold valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (Grade A); and
|
| |
(D) |
at least 1 year driving duty experience (in particular with passengers) in the past two years is an advantage.

Notes :

(A) |
an Outdoor Assistant may be required to work shifts;

| |
(B) |

selected candidates will be required to attend a simple trade test; |

selected candidates may be required to provide a copy of the Certificate of Previous Conviction Record issued by the Hong Kong Police Force; and |

before appointment, the candidate should get a pass in the driving test for the Government Driving Permit. |
Duties:
The Outdoor Assistant will be responsible for: |

(A) |
performing driving duty for conveying passengers and delivering of documents; |
| |
(B) |
cleansing and the maintenance of vehicle; and |
| |
(C) |
minor office clerical duties and general office work as directed. |
Terms of Appointment:
Selected candidates will be appointed on:
| (A) |
two-year non-civil service contract (NCSC) terms for post (1);
|
| (B) |
one-year NCSC terms for Post (2); and
|
| (C) |
3-month probation and subsequently one-year NCSC terms for Post (3).
|
Renewal of contract will be subject to the candidate's performance and the service need of OFTA. A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
